NATIONAL PARKS

Take a trip to Palo Verde National Park, part of the Tempisque Conservation Area and home to birds such as the Great Curassows, Scarlet Macaws, white ibis, roseate spoonbills, anhingas, jabirus, and wood storks among many others.

Your visit will consist in a boat ride throughout the Tempisque River bordering the Palo Verde National Park which flows into the Gulf of Nicoya, Guanacaste. Palo Verde has a great ecological variety and it’s located on the Pacific slopes of the northwestern Costa Rica covering 18.418 hectares delineated by rivers, limestone hills and extensive wetland vegetation.

Pay a visit to the spectacular hanging bridges above the jungle ceiling at Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, which is home to over 100 species of mammal, 400 species of bird, and 1,200 varieties of amphibian and reptile. Visit Rincon de la Vieja, an active volcano located 16 miles north from Liberia, Guanacaste in a spectacular National Park that features thermal waters and the incredible panoramic views of the lush, tropical landscape. You’ll find the Costa Rican national flower, the Guaria Morada in abundance, as well as over 300 bird species, including the great curassow, mot-mot, yellow-bellied siskin and the toucanet.

Take a trip to Arenal Volcano National Park, home to the mighty (and still active) volcano which showcases magnificent lava flows - especially impressive at night. Surrounded by the beautiful Arenal lake and between mountainous Sierra de Tilarán and the Lowlands of the North Region - part of the Arenal-Tilarán Conservation Area – the region also features a number of spectacular hot springs.

The Poás Volcano National Park is home to an active volcano with natural trails and over 70 species of birds including the mountain robin, hummingbird, quetzal, black guan, rufous-collared sparrow, emerald toucanet, large-footed finch and yellow-thighed finch.
